UT Student Will Spend "88 Hours" Homeless

firefox While most Americans are feasting on turkey and stuffing with family and friends this Thanksgiving, one local college student will be living on the streets of downtown Toledo, Ohio.    Keith Collett, a student at the University of Toledo and an intern with The Church on Strayer, will live homeless for 88 hours over this Thanksgiving holiday, as part of the documentary titled “88 Hours.” The documentary seeks to raise awareness for homelessness and the difference young people can make in fighting poverty.

Young people rarely have the opportunity to come face to face with homelessness,”

said Chad Fisher, director of The Epic Movement.

We wanted them to experience poverty through the eyes of one of their own in a way that compels them to take action.”

Keith's story will be featured at the next EPIC on December 7th at 6:35p.m. at The Church on Strayer. The EPIC Movement is a ministry for high school students, college students and young adults sponsored by The Church on Strayer in Maumee, Ohio. Monthly EPIC gatherings attract over five hundred young people and focus on equipping them to live out their faith in a way that is real and practical.
